Oakley Hall Hotel

Rectory Road, Oakley, Basingstoke, Hampshire RG23 7EL

Type: Contemporary Country Hotel

Built in 1795, Oakley Hall has a distinguished and fascinating past. The author Jane Austen lived in the nearby village and was a friend of the Bramston family – the then owners – with Mrs Bramston providing the inspiration for the character Lady Bertram in her novel, Mansfield Park. Fast forward to the present, and Oakley Hall has undergone a major restoration project to return to its full glory, ensuring that visitors will continue to fall in love with Oakley Hall’s Georgian splendour and charm for many years to come.

Oakley Hall Hotel’s 50 bedrooms have all been individually designed and furnished to a very high standard. Within the main house there are 29 brand new bedrooms, including four executive bedrooms and two four-poster suites. From every window there are stunning views of the 315 acres of grounds. 18 luxurious Courtyard bedrooms offer even more seclusion. Taking its name from the original glasshouse designed by Edward Milner, a renowned landscape architect who also designed Oakley Hall’s gardens, in 1850, the Glasshouse Restaurant was built in 2014. With its roots in 19th Century grandeur, the Glasshouse Restaurant provides an elegant and sophisticated environment in which to enjoy a fine dining experience.

Diners can now experience the many delights of modern British cuisine within an elegant yet relaxed environment. As befits a 2 AA Rosette restaurant, quality is everything – right down to every ingredient. A ‘field to fork’ philosophy to taken and the team pride themselves on using local produce sourced from within a 50-mile radius to create seasonal specials and signature dishes. Some produce even comes from the hotel’s own Kitchen Garden, where a wide range of vegetables, herbs and plenty of fruit can be found.

Oakley Hall Hotel is now able to offer in-room pamper packages and treatments. Simply choose from a menu of treatments and your therapist(s) will visit you in your room. All you need to do is relax and enjoy a blissful time from the comfort of your own room.
